The Sparrow Hawk

In one of the tales of ancient Ireland, the Hawk of Achill, reputed to have lived for five thousand years sits down with the equally ancient Fintan Mac Borcha, (the first man to have set foot on Ireland) and the two regale each other with stories of what they have witnessed in their lifetime; the battle between the Fir Bolg and the Tuatha de Dannan at Moytura, Cuchulainn in joust with Cu Roi, victory celebrations with the knights of the red branch. They talk long into the night and when morning comes they have both passed away leaving only their stories behind.
