A Bit of History

In the folklore of the Irish west, if the Thrush made her nest low in the hedges, where her soothing song could reach the kingdom of the fairies, instead of causing mischief on the farm, the little people would be lulled into a benevolent supportive mood and all would go well in the fields throughout the year. If she nests high up in the branches however, trouble beckons!
