Dollymount

Where Dollymount starts and Clontarf ends is a moot point. Is St Gabriel’s Church in one or the other? Even though St Anne’s Park is officially Clontarf /Raheny, locals claim the South Western portion to be firmly in Dollyer. What’s not in dispute is that the glorious stretch of sand and dunes on the north Bull Island is Dollymount and Dollymount alone. Cross the wooden bridge to the island and you could be in a world apart. The beach stretches 5km the whole way up to Sutton and there is an extraordinary wealth of wildlife including mammals, birds, fish and insects that live, breed and eat within the many different coastal habitats found here.
