A Bit of History

Cassidy’s Bar, established in 1856, was once the home of The Freeman’s Journal—the oldest national newspaper in Ireland which harboured some of the leaders of the 1916 rising.

One of the longest bars in the city, the pub, has a lovely old fashioned feel, spread over three floors. It’s had a bevy of famous visitors including Bill Clinton, who famously poured pints in the bar during his visit in 1995.
