A Bit of History

The medieval city of Kilkenny is famous for its castle, its winding laneways and its cats!

Known as the Marble City due to the limestone quarried in the county, which when polished takes on a dark translucent lustre, Kilkenny is Ireland’s smallest and one of its most cosmopolitan cities, with a host of festivals, eateries, historic destinations and a creative community that gives the place a special atmosphere.
