A Bit of History

The Blennerville Windmill is a 21 metres high, stone, reefing stage, windmill near Tralee, co Kerry. The mill consists of five floors, ground floor; intermediate floor, grinding floor, stone floor and cap floor and was built in 1880 by Sir Rowland Blennerhasset to mill grain for the local market and for export to Britain

Having fallen into disrepair over the years, the restored mill was officially opened in 1990 by the then Taoiseach, Charles Haughey and today, the mill once again produces fine ground flour while also welcomes visitors.
