The beaches of Wexford are rightly renowned, but sometimes the out-of-the-way spots are the ones that impress in a different way. The harbour at Fethard–on-sea is actually a good walk out of the village, but well worth the visit and perfect for a picnic. It’s tiny, and at low tide the water recedes to leave the boats stranded on a perfect sandy incline. The kids loved exploring about the area and the hound was in his element. Carefree summer holidays indeed!
