My intention is to keep adding to the collection. I’m constantly out sketching and drawing this fascinating country of ours and I hope in time to have a poster for each county, north and south and for most of the larger towns in between.

A bit of history

Balbriggan is Ireland’s second oldest active lighthouse, after Hook Head. When nearby Rockabill lighthouse was established, Balbriggan was relegated to the status of a harbor light and by the 1960’s, corrosion had damaged the dome beyond repair, and the decision was taken to remove it. The fixed light was then replaced by a flashing unit mounted on a column. Plans are currently afoot to restore its crown. I drove down on the night of a supermoon. I’ve taken a little artistic license, but the harbor looked magical in the unusually warm moonloght
